LANDMINES IN BURMA: KAREN AND KACHIN STATE The Burman regime has made the ethnic lands one of the most heavily mined areas in the world. Civilians and soldiers alike suffer from land mines and decades of persecution from the Burman (Myanmar) regime.
DKBA AND KNU RE-UNITE In 1994 the Burmese Military launched a operation to "divide and conquer" the Karen resistance. Using an influential Monk and creating religious friction the Burma created a war between Buddhist and Christian factions and in 1994/1995 the Democratic Karen Buddhist Army split from the Karen National Union. In 2012 however, the DKBA commander General Saw Le Pwe rejoined the KNU at a meeting in Karen State.

SALWEEN PEACE PARK

KAREN: ORGANIC FARMING - SALWEEN PEACE PARK A Karen community member and KESAN staff demonstrate the making and use of organic farming/organic fertilisers in Karen State. The Salween Peace Park initiative is a indigenous project operated by ethnic Karen People and the park covers over 5000 square kilometres.
KAREN: SAVE THE SALWEEN - INDIGENOUS LAND War in Burma continues as the Burma Military continues attacking ethnic groups across the country. Deep in the mountains of Karen State, 5th brigade region forces of the Karen National Union and activists with KESAN establish a park - over 4000 square kilometers of land for their indigenous people and the environment. From the south, Burmese soldiers attack with military forces while from the East they come with plans to dam the Salween River. Here the Karen Indigenous people make their stand.

KNDO JUNGLE DOCTOR

EPISODE 1: JUNGLE DOCTOR AT MU AYE PU Sabine is a doctor with 8 kids (two of her own and 6 adopted) who lives in the jungles of Karen State. She works as a doctor with the Karen National Defence Organization (KNDO). Everyday is an adventure.
EPISODE 2: THE BEARS OF MU AYE PU Dr. Sabine and the Karen village of Mu Aye Pu has rescued two Asian Black Bears. They are trying their best with the KNDO to build a large bear enclosure.
EPISODE 3: CAVES AND BEARS In this episode we examine some local caves and the bear enclosure which is too small and needs repair.
